I'm off to a slow start. However, I have written something both days.

hey, a slow start is better than no start at all! Thankfully my girls have been good for me both days, so I have had time to write on both the first and the second. We'll see if that trend continues! I'm so proud of you for gettin going freedom!

thanks freedom. I haven't had a chance to start anything yet today (kids are driving me insane) but i'm gonna get the last of my dishes washed (only one load!) then wipe down my counters and stove and start supper. I plan to do a bit of writing while supper is cooking! hugs, and best of luck

Ok, another bit ground out. Why didn't I just write a romance?

Maybe. This one, though, got personal right away. That makes it harder.
Having page anxiety right now.
Remiinding myself that this is not for a grade.
*later* woohoo, I have a day's worth of words ;D

I'm just getting started for the day. I'm still not sure where I'm going. I keep back tracking, but I'm being good and using strikethrough on anything I think I might cut out later, rather than deleting it and putting myself behind. I wrote it, it's staying. It is part of the first draft whether I keep it or not in the end. I'm counting it.

It is part of the first draft whether I keep it or not in the end. I'm counting it. I'd never used this method 'til last year's NaNo -- and found I like it A LOT. You know me, I often like the first take best, and this way it's still where I put it. I mean, I'm using it as a general technique now. And I totally feel it counts -- those words did not exist until you we wrote them. Just thought of something else: I also just write my musings on the page -- meaning things like, "But wait! What about the toucan?" Those are very interesting looking back and sometimes they stay in.

I'm doing that too. If I barely squeak by with 50K I'll feel like I cheated because these things are in there. I'll just have to shoot for 50,500 words...

Amnesty, dude.
What if it's a frame story? You're writing a novel about a writer writing a novel for Wrimo...

For the first time I feel that I achieved a good block of text, met the revised daily word average for finishing on time, and had that unique and wonderful feeling of surprising words coming out of my fingers.
This is why we do this!

freedom that is awesome! it's an amazing feeling isn't it? I'm so pleased for you!
I was sick on sunday, and wrote almost nothing...then monday I wrote over 3k words, then yesterday I had the hardest time writing. I wrote three sections that I can't use yet. finally this morning, I wrote a bit more, but not nearly what I want to write. So, off I go to try again...I seem to have lost all motivation for some reason...oh wait, I'm still physically recovering from being sick on sunday, it's "that time of the month" and I haven't really been able to eat much for the last couple days (i have appetite issues....) so no energy, means no motivation. guess I need to go eat something and try to write...oh yeah, and housework; that has fallen behind too, which is probly a large part of why i feel like crap. ugh!

has anyone else found that week two is harder than week one? maybe it's just the lost momentum of being sick, or maybe it's that i've hit a part of the novel that i am having difficulty with?
