It occurred to me today that sometimes random things I see, hear, or smell on my walks make good writing prompts.
This was triggered by seeing a broken key on the ground next to the interstate on-ramp. I felt briefly compelled to pick it up and use it in some sort of art project (hoarder/magpie) but I think I will work it into a piece of writing instead.
Half of a brass key, with a faded paper tag.
A sun-dress on a hanger in a public restroom stall.
Eyeglasses on a rock at the park.
One shoe (I have found random pairs of shoes or single shoes many times always in weird places).
One earring...
...you get the idea. Add strange things you find in your travels!
