A few years ago a group of professional writers got together and each wrote one chapter in an (intentionally) absolutely, abysmally, awful book. The purpose was to test if a notorious publishing house had any of the quality standards it claimed. It didn't The book, Atlanta Nights, has been dramatically read on youtube. It's not only hilarious, but a number of people are using it as an example for what not to do. Basically, if a technique is used in Atlanta Nights, don't use it in your own work. Warning, it does contain profanity and reference to body parts, and since I've only listened to the first chapter I don't know how explicit it becomes, so listen at your own risk. www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1bWYQ9teis
