I was talking to a friend who is OBSESSED with World War II. I mean...the dude has K98's, Mosin Nagant's, Mauser's, etc. from the war. He inspired this!
“The Ghosts of Normandy”
Private Patterson was his name; I’ll never forget it. I remember finding this soldier huddled in a trench. He was doused in blood, though he was not hit. He looked at me, though, not directly, but through me. He was screaming hysterically. I calmed him with a shot of morphine. When I could finally talk to him on a semi-rational level, he told me what he saw. He said; “They walk among us, everywhere, faces half shot off, arms and legs missing or dangling; they even drag themselves across the ground. They’re our dead comrades, our dead enemies, they’re everywhere.”

this would make for an interesting story! I'd love to read more if you expand it

I'm working on The Seedling right now and just thought of a disturbing sci-fi horror to write as well (influenced by the Angler fish). Feel free anyone to expand on the WWII story haha! R-Point is the only ghost story I know of concerning war so the field is open...must be a touchy subject?
