Our "New Relationship Energy" seems to be fading. Between NaNoWriMo and the holidays we're all so very busy. I'm hoping that if we get back to writing and submitting pieces our little corner of the internet will flourish once more. I think with the exception of Lizzie's excerpts and the weather there hasn't been any new material for a while!
Maybe we'll hear from long silent friends again, maybe we won't. I was thinking of inviting a couple of people from another/the other site. First I want to get some current work out there for review.
The end of the honeymoon doesn't mean the end of the marriage!

hey paper, most of my writing is still focused on my book. i'm close to completion on it (well...let me rephrase that...i'm close to finishing my first draft and finding my first "the end" on it. then i have all the work of editing).
BUT part of the story requires a lullaby, and I still have to write that. once it is written it will be posted up here. I'm really hoping that we will all be able to start posting here again. I miss coming and reading new work, and I miss reading your blogs and seeing what everyone is up to. in short, I miss everyone here!
new members would be more than welcome!

Hello, How are you doing? I hope all is well with you. Liz, did you reach "the end" of your first draft? Grace, I will be responding to Sandoval shortly. Sorry not to have been around much, I've been concentrating on sorting out the paper mountain at home. Unfortunately lots of it is stuff I need to keep, scan and share with people etc, so it's taking a while... and I keep stopping to read bits and pieces

hey cats; yup, i wrote the end a bit ago, and am currently working on editting. I've printed out the entire thing, and I am reading through it, and writing notes in orange pen on things i want to add, remove, reword, or to point out spelling and grammer errors. i have seven chapters scribbled over, and have started chapter eight! how are you doing??

Good going Liz ;D
To have finished a novel in draft is such an achievement; I've never found myself anywhere near there! How are you doing with that orange pen?

I was talking to a couple of people last night about this place and I *may* have kindled some interest... we'll see. I feel like writing daily was important, but that counting my work on Citrus doesn't work for me. I need to do a writing exercise AND work on the book. I'm going to go do that as soon I get back from 15 minutes of chores.

hey cats, i've been working on it. it's slow because it's hard to find the time to edit. oddly enough writing was easier to do with kids around then editing seems to be. i've scribbled over 10 out of 22 chapters. though i'm thinking when i re-write i'm going to add a couple new things to section 2...not sure yet. and then when i have scribbled over all 22 chapters and added if i'm going to, i need to re-type it ALL to get the scribbles worked in (and the new parts if i add them). once it's all typed up, i'll print off one chapter, read through it, scribble over it as needed, retype it, reprint it, reread it, ect until i'm satisfied with it, then print out a good copy to put aside, then work on chapter two. once i have a good copy of all the chapters, i'll send the entire thing to a few people for a review on it (a couple of them will be looking specifically for grammer/punctuation errors) and then do another read through myself. once all grammer mistakes and typos are taken care of it will be time to figure out how i want to publish.
paper, i woudl LOVE to see you around the boards again. i check in here every day, though i haven't been writing daily on the boards. i think i need to start doing that too. hope to see you!

Writing daily and having other writers to hold myself accountable seems to be the most motivating things for me. I am dedicating what extra time I have now to both of those goals, so I may be able to add to the momentum here.
Both my kids will be in school by mid August so in theory I should have more free time in the near future. I have a little more time now though, and I'm also just trying not to stress out so much about the rest of life.

Thanks! My parent's watched my older son a bit last week while my younger one was in school, and it was so strange to be home alone and not doing my own schoolwork. It's kind of weird to imagine what it will be like when they are both in school. I hope both of us will be able to use the time productively ;D
