you can do it paper! and you can set your own writing goal. and there's a way to use editing towards your word count too; i think it was one hour of editing is worth 1000 words.

Hello Both ;D I've just signed up - oh my I feel so nervous! I've been concentrating on the housework side of things for a few months but for the first time in many years, I have felt a novel-sized plot coming together. There are plenty of things that yet need to be worked out, but the story has substance, a setting and characters I'm passionate about. I was wondering about Nanowrimo, but by November I may be doing a post-graduate course (if I'm accepted on it!) and then I spotted your post, Scribbliz. As it happens I have just been made redundant so the timing of this camp is great. However, I feel so nervous - it's almost like stage fright I have signed up as 1olanthe and I will look for you over on the camp site. I am well scared of pressing the "create your novel" button - have you done that yet? Or is that something no-one does until 1 July? Although I haven't been on this forum much, it has helped my story to coalesce; nearly all the main characters and situations are from short pieces, originally quite unrelated, that I've posted here. Without this lovely forum I wouldn't be where I am with it. PaperGrace are you going to join too? Night night for now, Catsmum

I suppose I should be thankful I don't have that decision to ponder as I haven't anything lengthy enough to be editing ;D
See you there!

Ok. I'm rebelling and working on some RPG World Building. I cut the wordcount to half as a general goal, but I'll be doing some other work besides strictly writing prose/flavor for the game. I'll figure out some system for covering tables etc...
I'm in as PaperGrace again, my avatar looks like Wonderwoman, and I have just a placeholder for a title as of this moment.

A difficult start as my darling old cat had to be put to sleep and for days I didn't have the heart to write at all.
Now I've found a toehold in my novel again and it's going pretty well but I need to clock up around 2600 words daily if I'm to achieve my very ambitious goal of 50000 words.
I think you have to log on to the Nanowrimo original site to interact with buddies. How's your cabin? Mine's pretty congenial.
Did you see that someone posted a Nanowrimo thread on the forum were we met up? They were talking about starting a writing forum for it but I think that forum is here!

i missed that catsmum; i haven't been around the old site very much lately, mostly cuz i'm trying to limit my computer time while I edit. and cuz things have been crazy stressful for me lately in reference to my house. had a huge blow up with my oldest brother months ago, and it's still affecting my housework. i had no idea it had affected me as badly as it did until my hubby pointed it out.
i'll have to check out the forum again and look for that thread.
i'm glad to hear that you've gotten a toehold back in your novel. what's it about?

Sorry things have been rough at home, Liz. How are things with your brother now?
I too find that any sort of upset affects my house-keeping and it can be difficult to get back on track.
I'm still on the other forum quite a bit so shall I post a link to this one on the Nanowrimo thread?
I'm writing delightfully scurrilous purple stuff set in an imaginary but earth-like world. I always thought I'd write some clever comedy of manners but I'm so enjoying the melodrama of my Nanowrimo effort. I think there may be a Victorian sensation novelist trying to climb out of me ;D
